Tailgating is more about sharing than it is about competition and the people who participate help build the brands of their favorite teams. The individual traditions that they are creating add to the larger tradition. They see it as participating in the team experience. The reason all the people come together is because there’s something about building a tradition ... a sense of home and comfort. Every week it’s the same: the same people, the same food.

This app creates a fun and easy way to have a collective sharing of traditions, recipies, drink mixes, and games specific to their college

The app was designed to be the connection between the CrossFit athlete, their workout, recovery, nutrition and community. The non-evasive sensors located in each piece of apparel bluetooths biometric information directly to the app where the athlete can instantly track information and learn about their bodies. This helps the athlete determine what their individual bodies require, what their limits are and ultimately, help them progress and enhance their performance without injury.

For this project we had to research and then select a website that had user experience issues. For my project, I proposed to redesign the navigation, information hierarchy and vocabulary of Milestat.com. Milestat.com is a website dedicated to the tracking and archiving of high school and college running statistics and news. However, it has serious flaws in its design making it difficult for both new and experienced users to navigate the site.

From my original observations it was easy to see that Milestat.com had multiple problems. However, to get another perspective on the site, I surveyed six different users: 3 new users, 1 previous user of the Ohio Milestat, 1 web designer, and 1 alumni Virginia Milestat user with a survey. The survey contained four specific tasks followed by a series of questions ranking different aspects of the site. From their surveys, it was apparent that even the most experienced user had difficulty in completing simple tasks. Later, I created paper prototypes to test my redesigns.

Following the results of my paper prototyping, I was able to reorganize and redesign the site so that users were more successful in navigating it.

TruFit is an app designed for high school girl athletes that forces them to set performance goals rather than aesthetic goals. Instead of saying "I want my arms to be less flabby", it's "I want to be able to complete 20 push ups". It not only changes the way they think about working out, but also changes the way they perceive themselves.
